Graphic Novel Workshop

Saturday, August 18, the Tallahassee Writers Association will host a Graphic Novel Workshop with Jake Deibler from 1-4 pm at the Council on Culture & Arts (COCA) at 816 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, in Tallahassee.

During the workshop, Diebler will discuss his reasons for wanting to be a cartoonist and the importance writing has in the process. He will break down his procedure from conception to finish, and will include a group activity with a writing prompt. Then, all participants will have the chance to work on a panel, (drawing cell). Paper and pencils will be provided, but feel free to bring your own sketchbook and materials, if preferred.

Jake Diebler is the author of Eramore: Forget the Trails, a comic strip collection about a knight and his squire and their misadventures in saving the kingdom of Eramore from Lord Magnus. He also wrote Rent-a-hero: Light at the End.

This workshop is open to both adults and teens, rising 9th graders and above are welcome to attend. No experience necessary.


Cost is $10 for students (rising 9th graders and above), $15 for TWA members, $25 for general public (non-members).
